Dear Gail & family, Words cannot express how sorry I am that Nelson died. As the days go by your grief will lessen but time will never erase the memories we have of him. I pray the God will give you the strength and comfort you need at this time. Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith . It's the price of love. Sincerely, Edie

To the family of Nelson Blau: Feel the reassurance, God is with you as you navigate a "new normal". The hole left behind feels insurmountable, yet on some level, we understand death is part of the cycle of life... doesn't make it any easier....we know leaning on faith, family and friends is how we transition with a sense of peace, all is well and the hole is slowly replaced with celebration, joy and wisdom imparted by the years of love and time you had with him. What a blessing.... Nelson sits at the right hand of christ and has been reunited with Jeff and many others who have made the journey before him. While I moved away at age 20, even in my life, Nelson left an inspirational impression. I grew up with Jeff in school and had lots of fun memories of a handful of us hanging out in our high school years. When Jeff passed in our senior year... Nelson, a grieving father, found the strength to help Jeff's friends cope his passing., it was unimaginable at the time.. Something I've never forgotten, and never will. Somehow, Nelson's words and hugs made the difference in getting me through a tough time, yet no one was hurting more at that time than Jeff's own family.... to this day, I think of Jeff often and my heart smiles to know they've been reunited. To Gale: behind every good man... is an even better and stronger woman.... this we know. God will continue to bless you. I wish you all peace, while Nelson will be missed, every life he touched was better for it. Take care, hugs.

Like so many others, I was very sad to learn of Nelson's passing. I worked with Nelson peripherally at IBM Utica - on and off over the years. Nelson was a uniquely genuine person; always with a smile and good cheer - even in difficult moments (given the state of technology in those days) Nelson might say something expressing his displeasure with the technological misbehavior of the moment and then in the same breath - smile and say how great things were generally and smile that big Nelson smile. He was a great person and there are few like Nelson - so unassuming, nonjudgmental and so very happy and showing it with his hugh, genuine smile. He will be missed. May his family be consoled during their time of grief in the knowledge that they had the exceptional privilege to know Nelson in such a special way and to know that Nelson loved them in his unconditionally smiling way. I am sorry that such a privilege is accompanied with sorrow at time like this. God bless you all. Know that Nelson is smiling upon each of you.

I was very sad to learn of Nelson's passing. I worked with Nelson at IBM in Utica, N.Y. during the 70's and 80's. He was a great person to be around and to work with. It was an honor to know Nelson. All the best to the family and friends. He will certainly be missed by everyone at IBM.
