Obituary of Jack L. Bailey

Jack L. Bailey, 49, of New Street, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, January 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester on April 15, 1959, a son of Jack Bailey and the late Ann Canton. Jack graduated from VVS, where he was an avid baseball player. He loved horses and enjoyed working with his father at Jack Bailey Stables and racing at Vernon Downs. Jack worked at Mohawk Correctional Facility for many years. He loved going to amusement parks and roller coasters. His other passions were riding motorcycles and car races. On April 26, 2008, he married his friend and love, Laura Lomanto. He is survived by his wife Laura; his daughter, Sheenah of Oneida; his father and step-mother, Jack and Madeline Bailey of Vernon; his brothers and sisters, Deborah Daugherty of FL, James Bailey of Vernon, William (Ann) Bailey of Edmeston, Jeffrey (Amy) Bailey of New York Mills and Jaclyn Bailey of Vernon; his step-sister and step-brother, Debra (William) Cook of Vernon and Richard (Cindy) Ficarotta of PA; many nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Joseph and Patricia Lomanto of Clinton and Holly (Rory) O'Connell, their son Kaden of St. Augustine, FL; and his faithful companion, "Bella". Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, January 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Please consider donations in Jack's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Thank you to all Jack's friends at Mohawk Correctional for all of their continual support. And to St. Elizabeth's nurses and staff for their constant care and understanding.
