My thougths and prayers are with your family at this time. It has been a blessing to all of us here at The Highlands at Brighton to have had the privelege of knowing Joe. We will miss him dearly, but know that his spirit will always be present. God Bless you all! Jennifer, recreation therapist

What an incredible man! I remember when he taught me how to play gin. I beat him really bad and he said "What jackass taught you how to play!" I had been sick in the fall& Joe being the wonderful person he was sent me flowers-an orange gerbia daisy-which happens to be my favorite. When I called him to say thank you he said "when are you coming home honey"(he was talking about The Highlands)He was like a grandfather to me, I love him dearly! He has been a gift in my life & he will always hold a special place in my heart. I thank all of his family for sharing him with us!

What can I say? I feel so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to know Joe. I remember so clearly the first time I met him, and it didn't take long before he became so dear to me. Through the last 3+ years that I have known Joe, he has taught me numerous things that I will hold on too. I always looked forward to our talks. He would always tease Zac, saying that if only he was younger, then he would be with me! It always made us laugh, much to Zac's dismay. On Friday night, Joe told Zac and me that if he couldn't be at our wedding in person, he would be there in spirit. I know that this is true, and we will play a polka in honor of him. I will miss Joe deeply, but I am happy he is re-united with his loved ones, and no longer in pain. A special thank you to his wonderful family, for sharing this amazing man with all of us. I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
