Obituary of Patricia E. Dlugolecki

Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patricia E. Dlugolecki (Patty), 70, of Schuyler, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 20th, 2023.

Born on January 4th, 1953, Patty was the daughter of Robert A. Frost and Eleanor Frost. She grew up on the farm in Paris Station, NY, and graduated from Sauquoit Valley High School. Patty also attended Buffalo State University and SUNY Cortland, earning her Master’s Degree in Literacy Education. Patty had many jobs in the service industry, waitressing at various establishments throughout the area. If you knew Patty, you would know she loved to clean and organize. She turned that passion into a business and cleaned homes throughout the area as well. Patty also worked for over 20 years at Marcy Correctional Facility as a teacher. In her retirement, she worked for the YWCA of Mohawk Valley. As you can tell, Patty was a very hard worker.

On June 28th, 1980, she married Philip T. Dlugolecki (Phil), and in 1988, Patty and Phil celebrated the birth of their daughter, Sarah. Patty was the most amazing mom to Sarah.  She and Sarah shared a special bond that is hard to describe. They would talk on the phone every day, more than once, about anything and everything. There is nothing she would not do for her daughter. Patty cherished Sarah’s friends, and always prayed for them. She was so pleased that Sarah married James Wen in 2017, and that they have a wonderful life. She loved to visit Sarah and James’ home in Manhattan and have the run of the city. In February 2021, Patty was promoted to “Grammy Patty” when James and Sarah had their son Robert. She loved Robert so fiercely. We are grateful for the time she was able to spend with Robert.

Patty will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was the glue that kept everything together. Patty was always on mission – working towards her next project. She was always in the know, and loved to make new friends everywhere she went. Patty was a natural caregiver, and was the most selfless person. She was constantly putting others before herself. Patty prayed often, and always wanted to see people happy. Patty was a diehard Democrat, and loved to volunteer with civic endeavors. Patty had the greatest group of friends, she loved each one dearly.

Patty is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, Sarah, James and Robert Wen of Washington, DC; her sister Joan Frost (Alicia) of New Hartford; her brother Robert A. Frost, Jr. (Lisa) and his family of the farm in Paris Station; her sister Shirley (Dave) Donohue and her family of Burlington, VT; her sister Kathleen Holland (Bill) and her family of Howes Cave; her sister-in-law Dianne Dlugolecki and her family in Burlington, VT; her brother-in-law Damian Dlugolecki (Zofia) and his family of Oregon; and her mother, Eleanor Frost, of the farm in Paris Station. Patty leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. She adored Sarah’s in-laws, The Wens, especially Minnie. Patty also had two special “daughters” that she claimed as her own; Tawanda Stanley and Krystal Pavlot. Patty was predeceased by her father, Robert A. Frost, and her husband Phil.

The family would like to sincerely thank Sarah’s best friend, Krystal Pavlot, for her undying love and kindness during this incredibly hard time. We also thank Patty’s neighbors; especially Mike and Alka, and their daughters Ayanna and Anjali.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service in Clinton, NY. The family will celebrate her life privately.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Thea Bowman House. Additionally, Patty passed away too soon; if you could, please keep her memory alive by connecting with her daughter Sarah (and grandson Robert). She is going to really miss her mom.
