I met Sam while my grandmother was staying at the Abraham House in Rome. One day my sister and I chose to swing by his room and talk with him for a while. We would regularly say hi to him while passing his room and he was always so sweet. He and my grandmother’s birthdays were a few days apart and he wished her a happy birthday on her birth date. He was always talking about Ellie and how much he loved her company. Truly a sweetheart and a kind soul. My deepest condolences to Ellie and the family.
