I worked with Lucas in a town outside Tokyo, Japan in 2014. We had lots of good laughs together. He was witty and intelligent and he had a great sense of humour.
I always thought we'd eventually reconnect and laugh and reminisce about our times in Japan.

I knew Lucas in Japan and our short time together there is one of the highlights of my life. I have so many powerful memories of him, all involving his compassion for others, his emotional depth, his integrity and love of adventure. We laughed so much! Lucas was a really great guy and I miss him.
This is a sad and terrible loss and you all have my deepest sympathies.

Lucas was one of my best friends. He was a kind, funny, smart, and soulful person. He loved his friends, family, and the outdoors. The thing that really defined his character was how much he cared about other people. Lucas and I had some great adventures and road trips together over the years, most of all our drive across America in 2011. I will always cherish the time we had together and will miss him so much. Love to Lucas' family and to all who knew him.

I met Lucas in France, he was a friend of friends. I knew him not very well, but appreciated him.
He was a good guy, he always seemed happy, wearing a smile sometime scamp, always making us laugh, making us jokes.
He loved good wine, French food and have fun with friends during long evenings with good wine and good music.
I would have liked to know him more.
Sometimes, people are so profoundly different from the image they reflect.
I'm so sad for him, his family and his friends.

Sending love and light to Pam & to Lucas' family. Lucas was a true advocate for the children that he worked with. He was a compassionate coworker. He would always find a reason to smile in the hallways, cracking a small joke while passing coworkers. Lucas and I led an anti-racist book club for fellow staff - he delved into learning ways to educate himself and those around him surrounding equity. This is an album I never imagined I would make. Lucas was a pillar and regular landmark of my journey through this Life, and even at times a mentor and guide. Intelligent, worldly, expressive, intuitive, a great cook and host, purveyor of good music. I'm heartbroken that we won't ever link up on another hot summer day and have adventures and crack jokes. Lucas worked in my classroom for one year at Netherwood Elementary and the room became instantly brighter when he walked in. He was a gentle, kind, and compassionate teacher. The children loved him. Sitting with him at conference days was always lots of fun, too. We shared many laughs and he will be greatly missed by all. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Lucas and I worked in the same building at the same time in a Hyde Park school. I am heart broken to learn of his passing. I similarly lost my sister many years ago. Lucas was a wonderful colleague. He was always friendly, smiling, professional, warm, welcoming, caring. I never suspected he suffered from depression. I offer my sincere sympathies to all of Lucas' family and friends at this very difficult time. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing what a positive impact Lucas had on so many people during his life.
A donation has made been in Lucas' memory to Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. I include this information here because I didn't have an email to enter to let his family and friends know. I have supported this organization for many years and trust their work.
