Mary, Alta, Scott and Sue and family,
I'm at a loss for words responding to the news of Eddie's death. It is a stark reminder of life's frailty to face the loss of a childhood friend! My brother, Edward, and I have long appreciated the lasting ties between the Price and the Sledge families. We have fond memories of our early years in Bethesda when our yards were linked, we walked to school, tasted honeysuckle blossom nectar and built forts in the adjacent field. As adults, we have missed out on spending time with you, although Jane and Frank shared their love for all of your adventures, through photos and correspondance. Sigh. Hugs! We both send our love, Anne Parran Sledge and Ed Sledge

I shared four years at Hamilton with Frank and well remember his love of the outdoors. He introduced a group of us to snowshoing and I continue to love this activity to this day. (I did not join him on his scaling of North or Kirkland dorms) My wife and I visited him at his parent's home shortly after graduation and Frank and Mary took us for a ride arond Washington's monuments at night.
Frank studied seriously and did well, but was usually the first to join any adventure outside.
We visited the Hill in the middle 90's at caught up wih him again while he was still there, in his IT role.
We're sad to see such a robust lover of life removed from his natural habitat

Dear Mary, Scott and Alta
I have just been informed of the loss of Frank, I wanted to send my condolences and love to you all. Frank was wonderful and as you know, I worked closely with him and your all with the care of his mother. Frank was a man of passion and dedication. I am a better person to have known him and yourselves. I am thinking of you all at this time.

Dear Sue Ann, Scott and Alta,
So sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. We were neighbors for 17 years where our backyards met. I can remember enjoying the fresh asparagus that crept under our fence and the time I spotted a Blue Bunting at my bird feeder and quickly called Frank. Always a gentleman and a quiet presence in our Stebbins neighborhood. It was our pleasure to have known this scholarly man and know he will be missed by those who loved him.

I never knew Frank as a student, scholar, or hiker (I did know that he was a bird watcher and sought out his advice on ooccasion). I knew Frank as a dedicated practitioner of yoga. I practiced yoga with Frank (and his best friend, Sue Ann) over many years. When a studio closed or changed its teachers or vibe, I was always glad to see Frank and Sue Ann at the new place. Frank anchored the back row. He came early, stretched, and practiced without hubris or an attitude. He did it because he loved it and did it religiously (especially on a Sunday!). His consistency was an inspiration to us all. Although he didn’t talk much, he was always friendly and animated when he did. After COVID set in, I didn’t see Frank and Sue Ann much but kept in touch via Facebook. I pulled for him during his illness and treatment and was impressed by how he continued to make the most of his all too short life. I admired his relationship with his kids, Scott and Alta and of course, the mutual, loving relationship that he and Sue Ann shared. I will miss Frank on the mat in the back row but will always remember him fondly when doing “down dog”. My love and condolences to his family. Namaste.

Thank you for your kind comments and memories. When the world reopened as the pandemic waned I avoided group activities to avoid bringing trouble back to Frank. We missed you and I miss seeing you now. I have felt numb since he moved to a higher level. I appreciate your friendship.

To the Price family,
So sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. I was a classmate of his for the past few years at the AHI.
Always enjoyed hearing what he had to say on whatever topic we were discussing at the time.
His questions and comments were knowledgeable and insightful. He was a man of quiet character.
Will be missed.
