To Cindy and the Callahan family,
My deepest sympathy to you for your loss. He was a true sole taken to fast. I started in the Town of Kirkland in 1979 with the Police Department. Bill and Mike were two of the guys who always were friendly and helpful to me. This support and friendship continued for my career as I continued and became Police Chief. When I needed something Bill was always there to help.
He loved his family and we talked alot about what was going on with his wife and kids. They brought a smile to his face and made him proud.
His knowledge of the Town and roadways was priceless. He could tell when and where a road was going to have problems in the winter. He was one that could keep the Skyline Drive open and found many people stranded up there and saved alot of lives. His easy going personality and chuckle was priceless and he always brought a smile to my face.
He is one of the Great Kirkland Highwaymen that went unnoticed our plowing and sanding our roads all hours of the days, nights, and holidays to make sure we all could travel safely from point to point.
I thank Bill for his friendship and support. May God Bless him! Rest in Peace Bill - Thank you for Keeping me, my family, and the Town residents safe for your career. You will be missed my friend......
