Obituary of JoAnn "Jody" O'Dell

JoAnn "Jody" O'Dell, 50, of Eureka Rd, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. She was born in Albany on November 26, 1961, the daughter of John and Doreine Jones Rutledge and graduated from Westmoreland Central School. On May 30, 1981 in Texas, she was married to Richard O'Dell. Jody worked at Eckerd's and Turning Stone for many years. Jody loved to play the guitar and piano, she loved to cook and also enjoyed camping and motorcycle rides up North. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her two granddaughters. She is survived by her husband, Rich; her two daughters, Sarah O'Dell and Audra O'Dell, both of Westmoreland; two beloved granddaughters, Rozlyn and Ava; her mother Doreine Smith of Westmoreland; her father and step-mother, John and Agnes Rutledge of Sauquoit; brother, Michael Rutledge of Cassville; step-sisters, Chris and Steve Henri of Carthage, Beth and Bill Curtis of Marcy; step-brother, Ed and Nancy Smith of Verona; her nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She was predeceased by her step-father, Ed Smith. Friends and family are invited to call from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton and stay for the funeral service Sunday at 4pm at the funeral home. The burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery at 11am Monday, October 1, 2012.
