Obituary of Carmel S. Foster
Carmel S. Foster, 66, of Homewood Drive, passed away July 27, 2018.
She was born in Utica on June 6, 1952, the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Stores and graduated from Clinton Central School. On April 17, 1971, she was united in marriage to Frederick B. Foster. They shared many happy years of love and friendship. Carm was devoted to her family and her community. She was so proud of her children and supported them through everything. Carm was also a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church in Clinton, where she was the Altar Server Coordinator and a Faith Formation Instructor for many years. She retired from Clinton Central School as the Transportation Coordinator. She loved children and babysat for local families for many years – it was more than just a job, they were all her family too.
She is survived by her wonderful husband, Fred; her children and their spouses and partners, Marsha Foster and Jenny Jenkins of Ringgold, GA, Steven and Erin Foster of Liverpool, Eric Foster of Clinton, and Amanda and Danielle Foster of Clinton; five beloved grandchildren, Grady, Vaughn, Zander, Sullivan and Jordan; her brothers and sisters, Edward and Anne Stores of Wyoming, NY, James and Terry Stores of Sea Girt, NJ, Cindi and Cary Knapp of Princess Anne, MD, Elaine and Joe Vatalaro of Bella Vista, AR, and Pat Clementi of Seabrook, TX; sister-in-law, Debbie Stores of Lewiston; many special nieces, nephews and Godchildren; her Goddaughter Julianne Wilson and her daughter Avery; Chris and Michele Engle and their sons Cale, Cam and her Godson Caden; many close friends who were also like family; and her good friend, Fr. John Croghan, who was always there for Carm and her family. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Ron Stores, her granddaughter Ruby Foster, sister-in-law Eunice Stores, brother-in-law Robert Clementi and nephew Daniel Clementi.
All are invited to call Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. Private burial will be held for the family.
