Obituary of Carolyn E. Koba

Carolyn E. Koba, 84, of Judd Rd., passed away peacefully on September 17, 2010 at the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany. She was born on December 14, 1925 in Norwich, the daughter of the late Martin and Emily Walter VanPelt. Prior to her retirement she had worked at Hemstrauts Bakery of Utica and then Madison Silos of Oriskany. Carolyn was an avid gardener and artist as well as a cat lover. Carolyn is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Koba, Augusta, NY and Lawrence and Judith Koba, Greenville, SC; six grandchildren, Andy, Jeff, Larry, Missy, Ryan, and Abigail Koba; three great-grandchildren, Anthony and Dylan Koba, and Emily Newman; also survived by many nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Carol Ann and her soul mate Leonard Holmes who passed away beside her on November 21, 2009. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 6:00PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many wonderful people at the Eastern Star Home for the comfort and care you have given Carolyn in her time of need.
