Catherine (Asker) Acee, formerly of Clark Mills died on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Utica, New York on May 6, 1919, Catherine was the daughter of Abraham and Esma Asker. She attended the Utica Schools and in 1940, she married Anthony Acee. After 24 years of marriage, Tony passed away in April 1965. Catherine worked for 20 years at Oneida Ltd. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society. Proud of her Lebanese heritage, Catherine was a member of the St. Moura's Ladies Society. Catherine's greatest joy was her family. She was a role model for her children and grandchildren and leaves her family with wonderful memories of a home filled with love and laughter. Catherine is survived by her children, Ann Eisenhut, Tony and Tina Acee, and Karen and Bob Savicki. She was the devoted grandmother of Tony and Julie Eisenhut, Eric and Christine Eisenhut, Katie and Steve Cooke, Jennifer and Scott Hughes, Stephanie and Ed Maturo, Robert and Beth Savicki and Mark Savicki. Catherine was "Sito" to 15 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn Catherine is her beloved brother, Moses Asker and his wife, Betty; her sister-in-law, Mary Theresa (Narvin) Efferson and brothers-in-law, Happy (Judy), Fred (Linda) and Gabriel (Barbara) Acee. In addition to her husband, Tony, Catherine was predeceased by her son-in-law, Romey Eisenhut, her brother, Esper and sisters, Mary, Ann and Ceil and members of the Happy Acee family. Catherine's funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:45 am on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center, 300 Village Green Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047, in recognition of the care and compassion shown to Catherine throughout her illness.
