Obituary of Mary Joyce Pilbeam

Mary Joyce Pilbeam, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St Elizabeth's Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Westmoreland, New York and went to Westmoreland Central Schools. On April 8, 1939, she married the love of her life, the late George M. Pilbeam Jr., at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. Mary retired from the New Hartford School District where she worked at Perry Jr. High as a secretary for many years. She was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, The Society of Decorative Painters, and she truly enjoyed her work as a 4H leader. She is survived by her three daughters and two son-in-laws, Dr. Bonnie Pilbeam, M. Rebecca and Stephen Hunt, and Beth A. and George Marcellus Jr.; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gregory T. and Kathy Pilbeam, and Douglas B. and Barbara Pilbeam; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, George M. Pilbeam III. Funeral services will be held at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11am with a fellowship to follow.
