Dear Linda,Bill, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and Pam,Diane's best friend,
What a shock to learn of Diane's passing, it's hard to fathom that she is gone. I first met Diane in 1954,when I was dating her cousin,Joyce Kirley...soOOO.... many years ago.
When I was a student at M.V.T.I. in New Hartford (now M.V.C.C.) I would come up to 'Rancho Humphrey' whenever I had money enough to catch a bus from New Hartford's Campus. Sally & Bill were always ready with a meal for this starving student and many laughs, games and humorous stories of days gone bye. I always felt welcomed at good-old 234 Homewood Dr. in Clinton. Dad, Bill & Mom, Sally, were the greatest parents those 3 "Hon-Yocks" could have ever asked for.( Hon-Yocks,don't ask me ) We would just set for hours with side-splitting laughter, enjoying the moment we were afforded. On so many occasions, Granmma Humphrey would join in with our funny times, not always knowing why we were laughing ! !
I remember when Diane ( I think it was she, maybe Linda)) was driving onto Homewood Dr.and drove up a support cable to a power pole, the front of her car was at least 10 feet up in the air. I don't know how Bill ever got it down..it may still be up there ? Many haircuts were "perpetrated" on young people,by Bill Sr.to the surrounding Kiddo's in the area. My son, Tim still proudly wears his "Bill-Cut" at age 54,of course his hair hangs to the floor now and we re- named him"Tim Van Winkle"
There are so many stories I could relate, but if I did, we'd never get this service over.
Diane deserves better !!!
okay,OKAY, ! one more funny story..when Aunt Joyce and I came up one day,low those many years ago, sweet little Linda proclaimed LOUDLY !! to all in ear-shot.."Mom, MOM,Larry & Joyce Kirley are here." From that day on I was known as Larry Kirley. Now to Billy and Linda, please, please appreciate one another, you're the last of this Dynamic Family. God loves you and so do I.
Peace,Love and Honor to all,
Larry (Kirley) Horning

Diane, dear Diane...you will be missed terribly. We always looked forward to seeing your smiling face and hearing your outrageously funny stories of your life's journeys. Enjoy your afterlife...as we know you will.

It was so heartbreaking to hear this news this morning. Humph and I were great buddies for years and years, through our high school years and far beyond. She probably had the best sense of humor of anyone I have ever known, and also the biggest heart. I will miss her very much, but will cherish forever the memories of times we had together. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. RIP my dear friend.
