Obituary of Bruce E Failing

Bruce E. Failing, 66, of Route 12B, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his "cottage in the country" with his family and "family cats" by his side. He was born in Utica on October 14, 1943, the son of the late Paul and Catherine Slick Failing. He grew up in Utica and graduated from UFA. He served for six years in the National Guard Reserves as an MP. On July 6, 1974, Bruce married Sharon Nichols - a loving and devoted union of 36 years. He was a Master Plumber working with his father at Paul Failing & Son. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and William Gorton and their children, Kyle Gorton and Mitchell and Marla Gorton and their children, Spencer and Shane; father-in-law, Rex L. Nichols and his friend Mary Helen Gerth and her family; brother-in-law, Rex L. and Janet Nichols Jr and their daughter Renee Flanders and her husband Mark; nephew, Russell L. Nichols and his son Cody; longtime friends, Joanne and Carl Jenson, their son Matthew and his family; Tony and Dee Savello and family and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Betty Nichols. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
