Obituary of Cecilia Rose Morse Evans
Please share a memory of Cecilia Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cecilia Rose Morse Evans, 92, was born in Utica NY on January 24, 1925 and was the daughter of William and Margaret (Gressel) Morse. She entered heaven's gates on Saturday, June 3, 2017 and is finally reunited with so many loved ones who have passed before her.
She attended Westmoreland schools where she met and fell head over heels in love with Johnnie Evans. She always loved babies and loved her job working with babies in a Polio unit until she married John and moved to Florida where he was stationed in the US Army. They went on to have nine children. Cecilia was born to be a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and completely immersed herself in those roles. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and enjoyed preparing meals and setting a beautiful table for her family. She loved attending any of her grandchildren's sporting or musical events. Cecilia had an unwavering faith in God and attended St. Patrick's Church in Taberg NY for many years. She sent a son, John M Evans Jr, to the Vietnam War and a daughter, Linda Anair, to the Gulf War.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, John M Evans Sr, her precious daughter Sharon Rose who was hit by a car when she was only three years old, two infant sons, Eugene and Timothy, most recently her daughter Midge (Margaret) Norman (William) and her great granddaughter Mila Rose Vukovic.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda Anair who was also her devoted caretaker for many years, daughter Mary McNeil, son and apple of her eye John M. Evans Jr (Patricia), daughter Sally (Sara) Arthur (Richard), daughter Susan Johnson (Doug). Her twenty-three grandchildren that she loved with all her heart, forty-two great grandchildren, and five great greatgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family from 4-7pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton NY. A funeral mass will be held the following day at 11:00am at Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton.
