Robert W. Quinn, Sr.
Clinton
Robert W. Quinn, Sr., 88, of Clinton passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the St. Luke's Home with his family by his side.
He was born in Syracuse on April 8, 1922, a son of the late Edward M. and Anna Clarkin Quinn. Robert graduated from Clinton Central School in 1940 and studied music at the Manhattan School of Music. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 until his separation in 1946 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Robert married Margaret Salsbury on June 22, 1946 at the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. He was a member, an altar server and organist for the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. Robert was an avid musician, who played violin and piano as well as composed music until this past year. He was also an avid fisherman who centered his life around his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by four children and their spouses; Suzanne and Glenn Schultz of Voorheesville, NY, Michael and Barbara Quinn of Clinton, Robert W. Jr. and Marion Quinn of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Theresa and the late Richard Zupkas of Floyd, NY; and nine grandchildren; Collin Quinn, Kassandra, Ashley, Alyssa, and Erika Schultz, Caitlin, Patrick, Ryan, and Lauren Quinn. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Quinn in 1999.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. Please assemble at the church. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 2-4PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton, NY, 13323.
