Obituary of Michael W. D'Avolio

Mr. Michael D'Avolio, 59, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at St. Peters Hospital in Albany after an extended illness. He was born in Manhattan, NY, a son of Rosemary D'Avolio and attended Clinton Central High School. Michael graduated SUNY Utica/Rome with a Bachelors degree in healthcare management. He also attended Education & Training Institute of Albany. Michael retired in 1968 as Staff Sgt in the U.S. Air Force. There after he had spent 37 years working for the State of New York, where he then retired in 2005. On December 28, 2001 he married Gail (Dziok) D'Avolio in Guilderland were they shared a loving and devoted relationship over 15 years. Sadly she passed away due to an extended illness on November 12, 2003. Michael enjoyed collecting antiques, fine art, renaissance and bicentennial items. He also had a passion for cooking and was quite the handyman around the house. Michael leaves behind two sons, Christian D'Avolio and his wife Brenda of Little Falls, Jason D'Avolio and his fiancé Kerrilee of Utica; five grandchildren Cortney and her husband Mark Milgy, Samantha D'Avolio, Kendell Perone, Alexander D'Avolio and Kristine D'Avolio; one great-grandchild Calab Milgy; also a stepson and stepdaughter Patrick Hamilton and Lisa Hamill and their loving families. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, June 11, 2010 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St, Clinton. Burial with military honors will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 6-8pm.
