Obituary of Wellington "Junior" Atlee Barker Jr.

Wellington Atlee Barker Jr., 76, known by all as "Junior", passed away at home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
He was born September 29, 1940, in Utica, to Wellington and Katherine (Harvey) Barker and graduated from Clinton Central School. He was married to his first wife, Mary Barron, with whom he had two daughters. On September 26, 1970 he married Lorraine Getchell, with whom he had two sons. Junior lived his whole life on the family homestead and was a dairy farmer by trade. He had a love for old tractors and was an avid reader. Junior was a man of great wisdom, who enjoyed conversation with all – he had the "gift of gab".
He is survived by his wife Rainy; his daughter Darlene Horner and Rich Zalocha of Clinton; two sons and their wives, Michael and Jennifer Barker of Westmoreland and Brian and Shannon Barker of Clinton; his sister Artheda "Artie" Barker of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Alecia, Amber, Zoe, Aubrie, Carlie, Evy, Scarlett, Brady and Bella; and four great-grandchildren, Bentley, Mary Rose, Danielle and Katherine. He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Tina Marie Barker.
All are invited to call Friday evening from 5-7pm and stay for the funeral service at 7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.
