Arnold E. Rechsteiner, 85, of Fountain Street, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home. He was born May 5, 1931 in Wisconsin, the only son of Arnold and Freda (Marty) Rechsteiner. Arnold was a dairy farmer from birth, carrying on the family legacy. He married Lavon Winter on December 6, 1958. The couple raised their family and shared a long marriage of love and devotion. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and the Paris Hill Volunteer Fire Dept. Arnold enjoyed bowling and listening to Polka Music. He is survived by his loving wife, Lavon; two daughters, a son and their spouses, Kristen and Gordon Tibbitts of New Hartford, Karen and David Wilbur of Clinton and Karl Rechsteiner of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Gordon and wife Karri Tibbitts, Kaitlin Tibbitts, David and Matthew Wilbur, Karla and husband Bill Lovett, Andrew and Kathryn Rechsteiner; five great-grandchildren, Gordon Konner, Kyle and Kole; Billy and Addison, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law William and Virginia Meier and their children of WI and Roger and Dawn Winter of AZ. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 10am at the Presbyterian Home chapel with Reverend Anita F. Mohr officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Maple staff at the Presbyterian Home for the wonderful care that Arnold received.
