Obituary of Diane S Hallenbeck

Diane S. Hallenbeck, 78, of State Route 5, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, May 31, 2010. She was born in Cooperstown on April 12, 1932, a daughter of Raymond and Elfreida VanWort Smith. She grew up in Cooperstown and graduated from Cooperstown High School and Utica School of Commerce. On February 2, 1957 she was married to Jack Hallenbeck. The couple shared 53 years of marriage. Diane worked at Investors Diversified for many years. She previously worked at Drop Forge and for Augustus Miller Construction. Diane was a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother who loved to spend time with all of her family. She enjoyed gardening and arts & crafts. She had been a member of the Lairdsville Fire Dept Auxiliary, was a Cub Scout den mother and coached softball for the Westmoreland town team. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her seven children, Lori Hallenbeck of Lairdsville, Amy & Charles Baker of Lenoir City, TN, Anne Hallenbeck of Knoxville, TN, Garth & Sun-Tok Hallenbeck of Poquosin, VA, Jane Hallenbeck of Lairdsville & Andy Ellis of Clinton, Ellen James of Ventura, CA and Matt & Kristen Hallenbeck of Liverpool; her daughter-in-law Beverly Warshal of Clark Mills; ten grandchildren, Brianne Howard, Christopher Bumbalo, Kayla Warshal, John Hallenbeck, Hannah & Noah Baker, Matthew, Ian, William and Marin Hallenbeck; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce Smith, Jean Brockley and Howard Hallenbeck; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Adam, brother David Smith and sister Jaquita Stiles. Private services will be held for the family. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
