Gerald A. Pine, 81, of West Schuyler, passed away March, 7, 2016 at Abraham House, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born July 19, 1934, in Utica, the son of the late Alfred and Helen (Greer) Pine, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. On May 30, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Clingen, a union of 56 years. Jerry was a talented craftsman who loved to work with his hands and could fix just about anything. He could be found in his workshop making furniture, wooden toys or even a pair of downhill skis. He held many jobs over the years, but truly enjoyed his work for Raitt Management.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean; two sons, Robert Pine of Herkimer and David and Sharon Pine of Utica; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Cheryl and Michael Stover and Mikhayla, McKenzie and Riley Pine; his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bob Shue of Indian Trail, NC; special cousins Marilyn Peterson and Joan Aubrey; many nieces and nephews including David Tille, Karen Wiskow and Claudia Russell. He was predeceased by his daughter Cindy Lee Stover and sister and brother-in-law Althea and Gerald Blowers.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. All are invited to call Wednesday from noon – 2pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton.
