Obituary of Raymond E. Clark

Raymond E. Clark, 81, of Pryor Road, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, April 26, 2010. He was born in Clinton on May 23, 1928, a son of Edward and Hannah Hughes Clark. Ray graduated from Clinton Central School and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp. On June 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Winifred Hume. Ray began his career at Thermold and worked at General Electric for 20 years. In 1970 he co-founded C&H Plastics with his best friend and business partner, Bill Humphrey. Ray also operated Clover Hill Farm raising Polled Hereford for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at their camp in the Thousand Islands. He is survived by his wife, Winifred; three sons, a daughter and their spouses, William and Lisa Clark, Daniel and Beth Clark, Catherine and John Nester Jr. and James Clark all of Clinton; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew and Emma Clark and Jessica and Valerie Nester; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Thomas Levesque of Lyons Falls; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marjorie and Joe Bartolomie of Utica and sister-in-law Kathleen Crosby of AL; several nieces and nephews and his canine friend "Bear". He was predeceased by a brother and sister, James and Anne Elizabeth Clark. Memorial services will be held 7pm Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Friends are invited to memorial calling hours Thursday from 5pm until the time of the memorial service. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11am at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
