Obituary of Francis J Stockbridge

Francis J. Stockbridge, 86, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 in Clifton Park. He was born September 9, 1929, in Oriskany Falls, a son of Frank J. and Kathryn (Applegate) Stockbridge. He was a graduate of Clinton Central School Class of 1947 and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. On July 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Doris Wood, a union of 40 years, until her death in 1994. Francis retired from the Town of Kirkland Highway Department and was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church, Franklin Springs American Legion Post 232 and the Clinton Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Debra and Joseph Swenson of Livermore, CA and F. Joseph and Marjorie Stockbridge of Ballston Lake, NY; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Kelly Swenson, Sarah and Scott Keegan, Rachel Kathryn Stockbridge, and Ashley Lauren Stockbridge; five great-grandchildren Faith, Destin and Grace Swenson and Quinn and Claire Keegan; two sisters and a brother and their spouses, Mary Ann and Joseph Datres of Wappingers Falls, David and Barbara Stockbridge of Burleston, TX and Carolyn and Claude Lindeman of LaCrosse, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Irving and Norma Wood of Camillus; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and a sister Barbara Stockbridge. All are invited to call Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.
