Obituary of Shirley Mae Owen

Shirley Owen of New Hartford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at home with her beloved son holding her hand. She was born in Herkimer, NY, a daughter of the late Edgar and Marion (Ireland) Bushinger. She was a graduate of New Hartford High School. She was united in marriage to Milton J. Owen, a blessed union of over 70 years. Her most cherished times were spent at her summer home in Old Forge. Shirley was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, Utica/New Hartford and a founding member of the Kirkland Golf Club. She is survived by her beloved son, Jeff Owen; her "adopted" grandson, Joshua and Kristan Grande; great grandchildren, Alexa, Bryce, and Colton who all called her Grandma Shirley; sister, Betty Townsend; nephews, Ted Townsend, Keith and Greg Bushinger; sister-in-law, Barb Bushinger; her beloved canine companion, Bammer Ru; and many beloved friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, July 10th at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton, NY. A private family burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, New Hartford.
