Obituary of Margaret Rossi

Margaret "Peggy" Rossi, 89, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Martin Luther Home. Peggy was born December 3, 1920 in Plymouth, England, the daughter of John and Isabel Pring O'Shea. She attended school in Plymouth to become a nanny, and realized her dream to come to America in 1947. While working as a nanny in Rye, NY, Peggy met her beloved husband of 35 years, John F. Rossi, through mutual friends. The couple were united in marriage in 1954 and spent most their life together in Scarsdale, NY, where they raised their family. Peggy was predeceased by her husband in 1989. Peggy attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church while living in Scarsdale and St. Mary's Church in Clinton for the past ten years. Peggy was an avid knitter and reader and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren most of all. She is survived by her three children, John Rossi and his wife Suzanne of New Fairfield, CT, Catherine Reynolds of Clinton and Monica Barron of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, John, Andrew and Matthew Rossi and Maddie and Kelvin Reynolds; a sister and brother-in-law, Una and Gwylfa John of Purton, England and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, Marvin St, Clinton. A committal service will be held at 1pm Wednesday at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Friends are invited to call Monday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton.
