Obituary of Sherry Kilts Rice

Sherry Kilts Rice, 56, of Broad St., passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 5, 1958 in Hamilton, to the late William and Rosemary "Jeanne" (Mackesey) Kilts. In 1987, Sherry was united in marriage to Edward Rice. Together they shared many happy times and enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. She always looked forward to their annual 4th of July picnic and loved to celebrate Halloween and decorated enthusiastically for Christmas. Sherry was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and adored her cats. She is survived by her husband, Ed; three children, Lisa Tilbe and her husband Brian, Jaime Rice and Jennifer Rice; ten brothers & sisters and their spouses, William and Barbara Kilts, James and Sharon Kilts, Kathy and Ron Decker, Rosemary and Jim March, Jack Kilts, Bob Kilts, Tom and Kimberley Kilts, Patty Kilts and Jim Davis, Joanne Diehl and David and Bridget Kilts; a special sister-in-law, Edna Kilts; many, many nieces and nephews and a special friend Julie "Granny". She was predeceased by her parents and a nephew Joey Diehl. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Sunday, January 11, 2014 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. All are invited to call Sunday from 1-4 prior to the service at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Please consider donations in Sherry's memory to Hospice & Palliative Care. The family thanks Hospice for their wonderful care, especially her nurse Karen. Sherry was also cared for by her loving family, especially her sisters, Patty & Joanne and her sister-in-law, Bridget.
