Obituary of Donald C Kerwin Jr.

Donald C. Kerwin, Jr., 79, presently of Clarence Center, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2014 at St. John Hospice in Buffalo, NY.
He was born in Cortland, NY, attended St Mary's and Cortland High School. He graduated from Clarkson College, worked as a production engineer at Reynolds Metals in Massena, NY and resided in Fort Covington, NY. He was a 23 year friend of Bill W.
Don is survived by his wife, Annabelle, their six children: Ann Kolakowski (Paul), Don Kerwin III (Heidi), Teresa Mezil (Patric), Mary Reed (Alvin), Ruth Varner (William) and Peter Kerwin (Holly). Also 10 grandchildren, Juilanna Kolakowski, Greta and Bridget Kerwin, Gabriel Mezil, Branden Reed, Olivia and Alexander Varner and Luke, Andrew and Nicholas Kerwin. He is also survived by his sister Teresa (John) Lehr and brother Richard Kerwin.
Don was an avid Clarkson Hockey fan. He was also the family historian and loved to share stories about his family's ancestry. Don received his 4th degree from the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam, NY. He served as a parish usher, Boy Scout leader, mentor, sponsor, coach and volunteer.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton, NY. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills, NY. Don will be laid to rest in the Westmoreland Cemetery.
