Obituary of Rosalind Diamond

Rosalind Diamond, loving mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65. She was born Rosalind Soltes on June 14, 1949 in Waltham Massachusetts. She received her undergraduate degree in art history from the University of Massachusetts and her master's degree in art education from Syracuse University. Rosalind was a local photographer and a big supporter of the arts. She was an active supporter of Sculpture Space. She was an art and photography teacher for many years in the Utica school district. Rosalind is predeceased by her parents Aaron and Grace Soltes. She is survived by her daughter Jessie Drinkwine and her husband Greg of New Hartford; her grandchildren Emma Premo and Charlie Drinkwine of New Hartford; her brother Elan Soltes of Los Angeles, CA; her sister in law Christine Gallagher of Los Angeles, CA; her nephews Alexander and Julian Soltes of Los Angeles, CA and many friends. Rosalind had an indomitable spirit and will be missed dearly. Rosalind has touched the lives of so many and will forever be in our hearts. Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 16th from 5pm-8pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Temple Emanuel Cemetery Roberts Rd, Sauquoit.
