Guy F. Meeker Whitesboro Guy F. Meeker, 81, of Westmoreland Rd., passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the St. Joseph Nursing Home in Utica. He was born, the son of Romey and Virgil Redner Meeker, on April 9, 1928, in Port Leyden, NY. Guy was educated in Remsen School until he enlisted in the Army in 1952 serving two years in the Korean War. Then, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1962. Guy married Marilyn Schaal on August 15, 1964, in Whitesboro, NY. He was employed as maintenance at the Temple Emanuel, in Utica, for over 25 years. Guy also enjoyed mowing lawns and snowplowing for others. Guy was a member of the First Assembly of God in Marcy. Guy is survived by his wife, Marilyn Meeker; three children and their spouses, Robert Meeker of Vernon, David and Gerry Meeker, of Wampsville, and Sharon and Michael Danaher, of Sylvan Beach; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Guizdiak; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Nicholas, Betty Schram, and Terry Meeker; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 8:00PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, March 8, 2010 from 4:00PM until the time of the service. Interment will be held in Sunset Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. A special thank you is extended to his nephew, Marty Meeker, and the staff at the St. Joseph Nursing Home.
