Obituary of Robert C. Ferguson
Robert C. Ferguson, 82, passed away with family at his side, Tuesday, June 3,2014 in Loveland, Colorado.
He was born in Elmira, NY on August 29, 1931, a son of the late James C. and Marguerite Ferguson. Bob graduated from Alfred State and Syracuse University. He served in the Marine Corps as a fighter-pilot and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel. On July 10, 1955, he was united in marriage to Soulee Jordan. The couple shared many happy years together. They moved to Clinton, NY in 1964 and lived there until Sou's death in 2007. Bob lived on in Clinton after Sou's passing until August of 2013 when he moved to Fort Collins,CO. Bob was a airline pilot for Mohawk and Allegheny Airlines and retired from US Airways. He will most be remembered for his genuine love for others, his humility, gentle smile, his contagious joy and his great love for Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his three daughters, one son and their spouses, Bonnie and Larry Evans of Sanibel, FL, Jill and Matthew Robinson of Fort Collins, CO, Mollie Ferguson Arnal of Clinton and Robert B. and Amy Ferguson of Fort Collins, CO; twelve grandchildren, Laura Evans Flickner, Ryan Evans, Nicholas Evans, Lyndsay Robinson Gonzalez, Jonathan Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Benjamin Robinson,Abigail Schklair, Leah Arnal, Hannah Ferguson, Sophia Ferguson and Robert S. Ferguson; a great-grandson, Owen Flickner; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack T. and Elsa Ferguson of Homer, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, his parents, and his elder brother, James R. Ferguson.
All are invited to memorial calling hours on Thursday, June 12 from 4:00-7:00pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton, NY. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11:00am at Stone Presbyterian Church, 8 South Park Row with the Rev. Mike Servello Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Clinton.
