Obituary of Barbara A Nelson

Barbara A. Nelson, 78, of Westmoreland, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Katherine Luther Nursing Home. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Utica, a daughter of Burton and Evelyn (Pryor) Petrie. She graduated from Westmoreland Central School. On January 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Nelson. Barb retired from NYS and sold Avon products for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed the time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert; seven children, Bonnie and Harold Rutledge of Delaware, Connie and Steven Osterhoudt of Vernon, Robert and Audrey Nelson of Westmoreland, Barbara and Joe Casamento of Florida, Bruce and Lisa Nelson of Vernon, Edward Nelson and Mary Stolarcyk of Westmoreland and Todd and Pam Nelson of Westmoreland; fourteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Dorothy Petrie of Westmoreland; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Paul Lauri of Clark Mills and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister June Busco and a brother Richard Petrie. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, April 28, 2014 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Westmoreland.
