So, so sorry to read of Patsy's passing...such a lovely woman...always enjoyed our time together when she was in Binghamton and our phone chats. Am out of the country and will not return in time for the service Saturday. Linda Biemer. Binghamton, NY

I met Dick and Patsy shortly after they returned to the Hill because I was involved with Phi Beta Kappa. Whenever we got together, Dick would tell stories about people they knew and places they had met them; Patsy would chime in with what they had eaten at that particular event. I also remember over-hearing her say to another couple at La Petite Maison (we were at a different table that night) that she washed the tub once a week "for exercise." I always appreciated Patsy's lack of pretensions and her genuine interest in people.
The morning after Dick died, Patsy said to me, "I never wanted to be a widow, but I think I'll be a good one." She certainly made the most of living on College Hill in these recent years and, as you know, touched innumerable lives.
