Obituary of Eleanor G Stitt

Eleanor G. Stitt, 93, passed away peacefully at the Presbyterian Home with her family by her side.
She was born in Syracuse, NY on February 3, 1921, a daughter of Frank and Harriet (Hudson) Grubert. On February 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to the Rev. Richard P. Stitt. They were married for nearly 50 years before his passing in 1995. Eleanor was an accomplished cellist and played with the Utica Symphony Orchestra for many years. She was also a member of the New Hartford Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three daughters, a son and their spouses, Beverly and Walter Clark of Sherburne, Karen and Kurt Doss of Daphne, AL, Janet and Tom Blando of New Hartford and David and Connie Stitt of Ballston Lake; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Ryfun of Apopka, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Barbara, a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Fred Mitchell and a brother-in-law, John Ryfun.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am Friday, February 21, 2014 at New Hartford Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
