Obituary of Ronald Joseph Jardieu

Ronald Joseph Jardieu Westmoreland, NY Ronald Joseph Jardieu, 65, of Westmoreland, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Ron, the son of the late Joseph P. and Dorothy M. DuBois Jardieu, was born June 17, 1944 in Utica. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1963, and later joined the US Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a senior engineering technician for Alion Science and Technology in Rome prior to his retirement. Ron was a loving and compassionate person who adored animals, especially his most recent pet Otis. He was also a corvette enthusiast and member of the local vette club. Ron is survived by his greatest pride and joy, son Derek Joseph Jardieu of Washington D.C., and three step-children and their families: Rodney Townsend and fianc Susan Campbell, Brad and wife Crystal Townsend, and Coreen Puchyr and fianc Tom Gaetano, and nine step-grandchildren, Colin, Alisha, Brett, Brian, Brandee, Stevie, Diana, Gina, and Mia, all of Rome. He was the caring brother of two sisters, Marilyn and Janice Jardieu, of Tampa, FL, and will be missed by other relatives and many dear friends. Ron was predeceased by his step-daughter Kelli Townsend. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 6:30PM, at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Relatives and friends may visit beginning at 5:30PM, prior to the 6:30PM service. Interment will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
