Obituary of Marie A Barretta

Marie A. Bellanca Barretta, 94, of the Martin Luther Home, Clinton, formerly of Utica, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009. She was born the daughter of the late Carmello and Mary Moccaldi Bellanca, on December 4, 1914 in Utica, NY. She was educated in Utica Schools. Marie became a group leader for the General Electric Radio Receiver in Utica, where she later retired from. She then married Louis Barretta on November 25, 1939 in Utica whom passed away on January 8, 2001. Marie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Linda Barretta of Marcy and Carmen and Mary Barretta of New York Mills; five grandchildren, Anthony and Cassie Barretta of Edmeston, Carmen Barretta Jr. of Oriskany, Brian and Mary Fessia Barretta of Marcy, Todd and Kathleen Barretta of Blossvale and Ellie Barretta of New York Mills; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Savannah, Toniann, Rocco Marc Barretta of Edmeston, Erica Barretta of Whitesboro, Bella Barretta of Blossvale, and Madison Barretta of Oriskany; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marie is predeceased by her sister Pauline DeMarco and her grandson Marc Barretta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 10:30AM, at St. Anthony's Church, St. Anthony St., Utica. Please assemble at church. Entombment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 5-8pm at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. A special thank you goes out to staff of the 3Rd floor Mapleview wing of the Martin Luther home.
