Obituary of Hezekiah G. Webster

Hezekiah G. Webster, 95, a 60-year resident of White St., Clark Mills, died suddenly on Sunday, June 14, 2009 in Buffalo, New York. He was born December 4, 1913 in Norway, Iowa, the son of Hezekiah G. and Gertrude Baker Webster Sr. He grew up in Weedsport and earned his Bachelors of Science from Cornell University where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and the Army ROTC Cavalry Unit. He then earned his Masters Degree in Dairy Science from the University of Vermont. On December 6, 1941, he married (Francis) Lucile Benton in Weedsport. She died in 1991. Hez worked for the Dairymen's League and later Dairylea Company as a product technologist in research and development and retired as a manager of product technology after 40 years in 1979. He was an active member of the Stone Presbyterian Church and served as an elder on the session. He also served on the Clinton Central School Board from 1960-1970, the Town of Kirkland Planning Board, Kirkland Town Library Board and was a member of the International Food Technologists Association, the Clark Mills Historical Society and the Clinton Historical Society. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Hezekiah B and Mary Martha Webster of Batavia; and two grandsons Robert and Nathaniel. He was also predeceased by his son Robert G. Webster in 1997. Burial will be Friday June 19, 2009 at Weedsport Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton, New York.
