David Lacey Davis, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Faxton-St Luke's Hospital, New Hartford.
He was born to the late David F. and Dorothy Lacey Davis on February 28, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY. David graduated from the Cooperstown Academy and later received his bachelor degree at Hamilton College in 1953. Then he attended Cornell University where he became a certified club manager. David married his beloved wife, Irma Husmann Davis, on August 6, 1955, in Germany. He then became a club manager for various venues such as: Greenwich, The Algonquin, Fiddlers Elbow, Pelham, Seaview, and lastly, the Yahnundasis. David was the president of many organizations such as: the Fort Ann Rotatry, Sigma Phi Alumni at Hamilton College, the Pilot Knob Association and also known as a life member for the Empire NY Numismatic Society. He was secretary of the St. Jame's Vestry in Lake George, a Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow, and a past member of the Pilot Knob Fire Department.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Irma Husman Davis; four sons and daughter-in-laws, Gregg and Darlene Davis of Brewerton, D. Chad and Kathy Davis of Clinton, Douglas Davis of Santa Clara, CA, and James and Beth Davis of Clinton; seven grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jim Nelson of SC; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Davis.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 29, 2009, at 1PM at St. James' Episcopal Church, William St., Clinton. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. Burial will be held in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
Donations may be made to the Clinton Clock Tower Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 38, Clinton, NY 13323 or to the Jack Boynton Pool. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
