Clinton
Congetta M. Dziekonski, 95, a lifelong resident of Clinton, passed away on February 18, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
She was born in Utica, on September 13, 1913, the daughter of the late Vincent and Rosaria Tomaino Gigliotti. She graduated from Clinton High School. Congetta married Stanley A. Dziekonski on January 25, 1941 in St. Mary's Church, Clinton. She worked with her husband in the taxi business and the family shoe store. Later she worked part time with the Hamilton College Food Service until her retirement. Congetta was also a member of St. Mary's Church, Clinton.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brewer of Vernon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stanley J. Dziekonski of Clinton, and Richard and Frederica Dziekonski of Rome; four grandchildren, D. Brett and Tanya Wester of N.Syracuse, Anne Marie Dziekonski of New York Mills, Tracey and Carlos Sacco-Paz of FL., and Michael and Kimberly Sacco of Sauquoit; six great-grandchildren, Kirstie Ann Wester, Timothy Brett Wester, Erica Hope Lamirande, Meghan Erin Lamirande all of N.Syracuse, Carmela Sacco-Paz of FL., and Sophie Ann Sacco of Sauquoit; one great-great grandchild Aniya Ri'Lee Marie Mathis of N.Syracuse; a sister Angie and Jim Castronover of Clark Mills; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Yamroz of Rome, and Josephine Dziekonski Baker of Whitesboro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Congetta was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; a grandson, Brian Brewer; and two sisters and two brothers Jennie Falbo, Felix Gigliotti, Mary Newman, and Joe Gigliotti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 9:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton, from 4-7PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.
