Obituary of Gladys M. Ferguson

Gladys M. Ferguson passed away peacefully at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany on Monday, September 29, 2008. This has been her home for the past nine years.
Gladys was born in Rome, NY on June 14, 1916. She married Carl J. Ferguson on June 27, 1936 in Westmoreland.
She was a member of the Westmoreland and Madison Methodist Churches. She was a sixty-four year member of Oriskany-Westmoreland Chapter, O.E.S. and enjoyed being an officer and cutting pies for their turkey dinners.
She was a loving mother to fifty-five foster children and well as her own children. She is survived by her children, Joyce (Paul) Cornelius, John (Carol), Frank (Eve), Charles and Mary; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her sisters, Clara Pfendler and Ann Mooney. She was predeceased by her husband in 1982, her granddaughter, Valerie, a sister and two brothers.
A Celebration of her Life and Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at the Chapel on the Eastern Star Campus at 10:30am on Saturday, October 4, 2008. It will be preceded by visitation with her family for one hour preceding the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
