Obituary of Marie Y. Sango

Marie Y. (Lemire) Sango, 77, formerly of Mohawk St., Sauquoit, passed away on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at the Folts Home in Herkimer, after battling Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on August 4, 1930 in Manchester, NH the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Alberta Lemire. Marie served in the United States Army in the Women's Air Corp during the Korean War from 1949 1950 and received an Honorable Discharge for her service. On June 10th, 1950 Marie was united in marriage with Joseph G. Sango, her beloved husband of 44 years who passed away on April 10th, 1995. Surviving Marie are her daughter Laura E. and Duane Fessenden of Cary, NC and their children Allison and Stacy; her son Jeffrey C. and Sandra Sango of Silver Springs, FL and his children Joseph, Nicholas and Jacob; her daughter Claudia N. and Kevin King of Henderson, NC and her son Ian Blanchard; a son Jason A. and Brenda Sango of Tampa, FL and their children Jared and Janelle and a daughter Rowena L. and Donald Chrystie of Utica, NY and their children Theodore and Nicole. Also surviving her are her sister-in-laws Nancy Sango of Waterville, NY and Ruth Sango of Leominsiter, MA as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson Zachary King, a niece Diane Pavlot, a nephew Donald Sango, a brother-in-law George Sango, a brother-in-law Nick Sango, a sister-in-law Katherine Katzeral and a sister-in-law Helen Protzman. Their will be no public viewing hours and internment will commence from Owens-Pavlot Funeral Home in Clinton, NY and take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clayville, NY where graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Folts Home for their love, care and support during Marie's illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a donation to Central NY Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
