Obituary of Carleton E. Nelson

Carleton "Zeke" E. Nelson, 90, of Fox Road, passed away at home on Sunday, December 15, 2013. He was born March 27, 1923, in Westmoreland, a son of the late Leroy and Florence (Pick) Nelson. Zeke was a farmer for most of his life and later retired from Westmoreland Highway Dept., after 25 years of service. He had been married to Florence Nelson, until her death in 1969. He is survived by his loving companion of 44 years, Mary Quesnell; his son and daughter-in-law, Carleton Jr. (Kimberly) Nelson of West Winfield; sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Paul) Lauri of Clark Mills; brother-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Nelson of Westmoreland; step-daughter and caregiver, Janice Quesnell of Remsen; step-daughter and step-son: Rosemary (Mike) Simons of Floyd, NY, and Donald Quesnell of Texas/Saudi Arabia; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot and Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton, NY, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Westmoreland. All are invited to call Thursday from 11:00am-1:00pm. Please consider donations in Zeke's memory to the Stittville Fire Department, 9069 Main St, Stittville, NY 13469. Special thanks to Dr. Kachare and his staff for their care and compassion over the years.
