Obituary of Robert A. Durant

Robert A. Durant, 60, of Waterville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
He was born in Oneida on May 5, 1953, the son of Gordon and Ruby Durant and graduated from Madison High School. On August 18, 1973, he was married to Lois Rashford, a union of love and friendship for 40 years. Bob worked at Clinton Tractor as a mechanic for 32 years and was a bus driver for Waterville Central School. Among farmers, he was known as the "Bailer-man". He loved to sing and play music with his DJ Service, "The Good Ole Boy". He also enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, and fixing things, but he loved seeing his grandkids most of all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; three daughters, Kim and David Hutchings, Jenn and Mike Shaler and Angela and Steve Lewosko; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Ruby Durant; two sisters and a brother, Brenda Thieben, Alan and Dawn Durant and Rebecca and George Wormuth; mother-in-law, Eleanor Rashford; his in-laws, Jim and Sandy Rashford, Linda Fuess and William and Wendy Rashford; and many special friends, including Clyde McGrell and Paul Holic. He was predeceased by his father, brother Ronald Durant and father-in-law, Lewis Rashford.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. All are invited to call Saturday from 1-4pm. Burial will be private for the family.
