Obituary of Robert L. Oyer

Robert L. Oyer, 88, passed away December 22, 2024. 

He was born on the family farm in Whitestown, NY, on January 6, 1936, a son of the late Howard and Johanna (Foppes) Oyer.  Bob attended SUNY Morrisville and retired from Chicago Pneumatic.  He was proud to serve with the Army National Guard.  Bob was united in marriage to Janet Knepka on January 11, 2003. Bob was a member of Life Tabernacle Church where he served as an usher for many years.  Bob was an avid gardener with a green thumb. 

He will be missed by his wife, Janet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Brian Rahn and Tina Oyer Ponce and Mark Garner; their mother and former spouse Diann Ferraiola; three grandchildren, Maya Rahn, Taylor Rahn and husband Bob Tutino, and Gabriel Ponce; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Helen Oyer; sister Ellen Forder; many nieces and nephews; and his cherished cat Precious.  He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Richard, Raymond and Luke Oyer, and sister Gertrude Race. 

Visitation and funeral services will be held at a time to be announced on April 26, 2025, at the Life Tabernacle Church, 121 Main St., Whitesboro, NY.  Please omit flowers and consider donations in Bob’s memory to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society.
