Obituary of Sandra J. Eckmair

Sandra Jean Longway Eckmair, 78, passed away December 10, 2024.

 

She was born in Brownville, NY on September 30, 1946, a daughter of the late Leon and Eleanor Williams Longway.  Sandra was a talented seamstress, sewing clothing for her family and making quilts. She shared her love of baking with her family, friends and coworkers and also loved to spend time in her gardens and travel. Sandra worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Breakfast at Tiffany’s for many years.  After her retirement, she and her husband Fred continued their love of adventure and traveled all over America and Europe.  During their winters in Florida, Sandra also worked at Universal Studios.

 

She is survived by her husband, Fred; son Scott Colony; daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Kyle Yerman; grandchildren, Emma Yerman, Kamryn Yerman, Gage Colony and Leon Colony; stepson John and Andrea Eckmair and their son John Henry Eckmair, and daughter-in-law, Catherine Eckmair and her children, Erik, Adam and Jeremy Eckmair; brother and sisters-in-law, Delbert and Polly Longway, and Joan Longway; sister Ruby Longway; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, grandson Logan Colony, and brother George and Guy Longway.

 

She will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clinton.  There will be no public services.  Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service.
