Obituary of Steven M. Woodward

Steven M. “Woody” Woodward, 59, of Deansboro passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Wynn Hospital.

Woody was born in Utica, on December 17, 1964, to the late William and Elizabeth (Engalls) Woodward. He graduated from Waterville High School and went on to Delhi. After college he worked for Jack Brunner doing carpentry before starting his own successful contracting business Steven Woody Woodward Carpentry and Electric in 1998. On May 2, 1987, he married the love of his life Denise Shantal at the Deansboro United Methodist Church.

Woody loved to have fun, and he was a people person but most importantly he was a family man a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams growing up baseball, softball and football. He was an avid golfer, and he loved to travel with his wife.

Steven will be missed by his children, Stephanie and Dan Leger, Steven Woodward & Myah Harrington; his grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Leger; his siblings, Dan & Wendy Woodward, Ken Woodward, Kim Hughes, Dana Champion; his mother-in-law, Ida Shantal; sister-in-law Deborah Jeffers and fiance Doug Eaton; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by the love of his life Denise Woodward, his parents, his brother William Woodward, and father-in-law Donald Shantal Sr.

All are invited to his graveside service on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 11am at Deansboro Cemetery.
