Obituary of Wayne D Saddlemire

Wayne D. Saddlemire of Clinton, NY went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2013. He was born January 16, 1933 in Owego, NY. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Clinton; two sons, Alfred of Clinton and Robert and his wife Patricia of Waterville; one sister Vivian Jorgensen of San Antonio, TX and her two boys Michael of San Antonio, TX and Stephen of Round Rock, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ethel Drake. Wayne was in the US Army from 1950-1953 and served in Korea. He worked for Tar Asphalt and Bonded Freightway before he went to work for the NYSDOT for 22 years. He was a Highway Maintenance Supervisor before retiring. Wayne worked for Fort Stanwix National Monument for 5 years as an interpreter. He also worked for Oriskany Battlefield for another 5 years as a park ranger. Then he volunteered for another 5 years at Fort Stanwix National Monument. Wayne was a lifetime member of the DAV and also the VFW Post 9591 in Clinton. We want to thank the staff of the Cedar Unit of the Presbyterian Home, especially Tammy. All you girls were so good to Wayne, we will never forget you. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10am with Pastor Tom Lorenz officiating at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. There will be calling hours Wednesday from 4-7pm. Please omit flowers and remember the Steven-Swan Humane Society or the Cedar Unit of the Presbyterian Home.
