Obituary of Deanna R Clarke

Deanna "Dee" Clarke of Clinton, took her last great escape to be with our Lord and Savior on October 18, 2013. After a courageous battle with lung cancer, she died in her Clinton home with family by her side. She was born May 30, 1939 and attended Utica and then Clinton Schools where she stayed and then married Francis A. Clarke at the Clinton Methodist Church on May 31, 1958. Deanna, a guardian angel for the young and old alike, devoted her life to helping others not only through Martin Lutheran Home from 1975-1995 and then at the Clinton School Cafeteria from 1995 until she retired in 2011, but also in her everyday life. She never gave a second thought to helping others, even strangers. An admired and devoted mother, wife and dearest friend of many, she enjoyed the simple things in life and always got the job done. A long standing member of the American Legion Auxiliary #232 and the VFW Auxiliary #9591. Deanna was a true blue NY Yankees fan, swooned over Elvis and spent every moment possible with her adoring family. She loved the Adirondacks, swimming, bowling and cooking for her family. Surviving besides her devoted husband Francis, her cherished daughters and son in-laws, Mr. & Mrs. Randy (Jennifer) Trapanick of Gibsonia, Pa; Mr.& Mrs. William (Cherie) Downey of Warrenton, Va.; and Tammy Clifford of Clinton. 5 treasured grandchildren, Victoria and Robert Trapanick; Maura and Claire Downey; and Morgan Pianka of Clinton. 3 brothers Richard Evans of Whitesboro; Robert Evans of Raquette Lake; and Charles Evans of Allison Park, Pa.; also 2 sisters Charlene Evans Webster of New Hartford and Barbara Evans VanDusen of Clinton; 34 nieces and nephews and their families. Deanna is predeceased by her parents of Clinton, Robert F. and Margaret Evans Sr., 2 brothers Lawrence Evans, and Douglas Evans; 2 sisters Gail Evans Ueltschi, Nadine Evans Hanley and her precious granddaughter Gabrielle Downey. Burial and service will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 9:30am.
