Obituary of Robert John Getz

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Grandpa Getz passed away at Wynn hospital on July 18, 2024 at 6:45pm. He was surrounded by memories, music and love.

Robert Getz was born in Clinton in 1941 to Relda and Stanley Getz. He grew up with four brothers and one sister in the RagTag Alley of Clark Mills. Throughout his life he was known for being a big flirt, having the gift of gab, and his piercing blue eyes. On August 31, 1963 he married Ella (Sue) Rogers at the Church of Annunciation in Clark Mills. By 1970 they shared three children, Roberta, Joseph and Crystal. Life took them from New York to Arizona where he worked in the banking industry. Retiring in 2001 gave Grandpa Getz even more time to spend with this family, including eight grandchildren: Sarah, J.J., Beth, Jesse, Julia, Jessica, Anica and Keegan Adler. He also relished his time with his three great-grandchildren; Liam, Lilliana and Caleb. His life was for his family and his influence and impact will be felt for many years by all of them.

The family would like to extend a thank you to his best friend of 78 years Chuck Dzubin, whose beautiful words and kindness on Rob’s last day was a loving tribute to the legacy grandpa will leave behind. Rob died holding the hand of his wife Sue and best buddy, Keegan Adler.

Calling hours will be at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 23rd from 5-630pm. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday July 24th at 10am at the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills.
