Obituary of Florence I. Sadowski

Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Florence I. Sadowski, 82, passed away July 7, 2024 at Wynn Hospital.

She was born in Utica on April 18, 1942, a daughter of Stanley and Veronica (Bibik) Szpunar.  Florence grew up on the family farm on Post Street and was a graduate of Clinton Central School.  She was united in marriage to John Sadowski on September 15, 1962, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Utica.  The couple celebrated 61 years of love and devotion before John’s passing on October 28, 2023.  For the last 13 years of John’s life, Florence was his primary caregiver, and she would not have had it any other way.

Florence will be dearly missed by her daughter, Cindy; her two precious grandchildren, Nolan, and Ashley, who were the light of her life; her sisters, Frances Woodberry of FL, Helen Buczek of Rome, and Gladys Faulkenberry of FL; and many nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Richie Buczek. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband John.

All are invited to calling hours on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 10am-11am at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College Street, Clinton. A Mass will follow at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
